I. Origin and Production Area

• Production Area: Miaowan Jinjunmei originates from Miaowan Village, Xingcun Town, Wuyishan City, Fujian Province, nestled deep within the Wuyi Mountains. This area is part of the dual World Heritage site (both cultural and natural) and the core zone of the Wuyi Mountain National Nature Reserve.
• Origin: Jinjunmei is a branch of Zhengshan Xiaozhong black tea, developed by an expert team in Tongmu Village in 2005. As a treasure among black teas, Jinjunmei has brought a new tea-drinking experience to Zhengshan Xiaozhong black tea.

II. Name Origin

• Jin (Gold): Jinjunmei is only picked from spring buds, once a year, and it takes 60,000 to 80,000 buds to make one jin (Chinese unit of weight, approximately 0.5 kilogram). Its production is as rare and precious as gold.
• Jun (Horse): One interpretation is that it is taken from the name of the creator, Liang Junde. Another is that the raw materials are picked from wild tea trees in the rugged mountains of Wuyi, and it is hoped that the tea will have a promising future like a galloping horse.
• Mei (Eyebrow): Traditional famous teas often have “mei” in their names. Jinjunmei’s tea leaves are slender and eyebrow-shaped, and “mei” also signifies longevity.
